13 May 2025 - Celebrating Our First Inclusive Session at Long Field Spencer Academy!

Fun, Fencing of All!

You know how much we at E2H love bringing the exciting world of fencing to schools. Last week, we saw 10 incredible teachers in action, pushing their boundaries and discovering a whole new passion for the sport (and maybe a little competitive spirit!). Well, this week, we took another HUGE step forward in our mission to make fencing truly accessible to everyone.

Yesterday, we held our very first dedicated inclusive fencing session at the wonderful Long Field Spencer Academy in Melton Mowbray, and honestly, it was nothing short of amazing!

Seeing the joy, focus, and sheer determination on the faces of the students during the session was truly inspiring. Just like the teachers last week, many of these students were trying fencing for the very first time. It's a testament to their willingness to embrace new experiences and a powerful reminder of how sport can open doors to new skills, confidence, and a sense of achievement.

Why is this so important to us?

At E2H, we firmly believe that fencing isn't just for a select few. It's a unique sport that offers so many benefits – from physical fitness and hand-eye coordination to strategic thinking and discipline. And what makes it even more special is its adaptability. We're passionate about ensuring that every child, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), has the opportunity to experience these benefits and find a sport they can truly connect with.

Football, rugby, hockey – they're great, but they're not for everyone. Fencing offers a fantastic alternative, allowing individuals to thrive in a different kind of dynamic environment. To see the smiles and hear the cheers yesterday as students mastered basic moves and engaged in friendly bouts was exactly what we set out to achieve.

This inclusion session was a huge milestone for E2H. It reinforces our commitment to delivering tailored, engaging fencing experiences that cater to diverse needs and abilities. We're building on the enthusiasm we saw with the teachers last week, showing that this unique sport can spark curiosity and inspire pride in everyone who tries it.

A massive thank you to the incredible team at Long Field Spencer Academy and Clare at Melton & Belvoir School Sport and Physical Activity Network for helping to make this inspiring session possible. We're so excited about what the future holds and can't wait to bring more inclusive fencing opportunities to schools across the Melton and Belvoir area.

Stay tuned for more updates and perhaps even some exciting photos and videos from the session – they truly speak a thousand words!
